Frequently Asked Questions
What beats Fire type in Pokemon?
Fire-type Pokemon are weak to Water, Ground, and Rock-type moves (take 2x damage). They are resistant to Fire, Grass, Ice, Bug, Steel, and Fairy moves. Knowing these matchups is essential for competitive battles and gym challenges.
How does dual-type effectiveness work in Pokemon?
When a Pokemon has two types, incoming move effectiveness is multiplied. If a move is 2x effective against both types, it deals 4x damage. If 2x against one and 0.5x against the other, they cancel to 1x (normal). If a type is immune (0x) to a move, the combined result is always 0 regardless of the other type.
How do Pokemon type matchups work?
Each of the 18 Pokemon types has specific strengths and weaknesses. When attacking, moves deal 2x super effective damage or 0.5x not very effective damage depending on the defender's type. Some types are immune (0x). As a defender, your type determines which moves are super effective, resisted, or completely blocked against you.
